Marble is used as a building stone for exterior coating and interior finishing. It also comes in a form of crushed and grounded stone, as
well as
sawed stone. Marble chips and grounded sand are used in producing stone mosaic and stucco, as well as concrete aggregate.
Since ancient
times marble has been used as construction and coating architectural material due to its flexibility and decorative
characteristics such as
firmness, fine-grained texture, that makes marble an easily processed material, capable of being polished. This
brings out its rich color range and
the beauty of its homogeneous, spotted or flaky texture. Marble is also used in creating mosaic
compositions, relieves and round constructions
(for this monochromatic, mainly white, more rarely colored or black marble is used).
Marble is also a coating material for fireplaces and
fountains, for table tops and staircases, for floors, flower pots and balusters.
